For robbing civilians’ possessions | Unknown gunmen establish checkpoint in eastern Deir Ezzor, and open fire on man and his wife

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that a civilian and his wife sustained various injuries as unknown gunmen opened fire on their car in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to SOHR sources, the unknown gunmen had established a checkpoint near the railway tracks on the outskirts of Al-Busayrah city with the aim of robbing and looting civilians’ possessions and money after stopping their cars. It is worth noting that the civilian and his wife, who were taken later to Al-Fayhaa hospital in Al-Busayrah city, refused to stop at the checkpoint, so the gunmen opened fire on them.

 

On March 17, SOHR sources reported that two unknown gunmen on a motorcycle opened fire on the military vehicle which the leader of the SDF “Deir Ezzor Military Council” was traveling in. The attack, which took place in Jadidat Ekaydat town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, casued material damage only.

 

While on March 11, SOHR activists said that gunmen, believed to be of ISIS cells, assassinated an employee of the Agricultural Association of Deir Ezzor Civil Council, by shooting him with a pistol while he was leaving the mosque in Al-Ji’a village in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, which is controlled by Syria Democratic Forces.
