With 20 airstrikes | Russian fighter jets target ISIS positions in Syrian desert

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has monitored, since the early hours of Saturday morning, four Russian fighter jets consecutively targeting positions of Islamic State cells in the Syrian desert in the triangle of Hama – Aleppo – Raqqa with about 20 airstrikes, coinciding with the flight of helicopters over the eastern desert of Hama, in addition to the flight of Russian reconnaissance drones over the region.

Meanwhile, regime forces, backed by loyal militiamen, continue to comb the Syrian desert searching for ISIS cells for the third day in a row. No casualties have been reported so far.

Yesterday, SOHR sources said that Russian jets executed some 76 airstrikes in 24 hours on areas in the Syrian desert, coinciding with the combing operations in the deserts of Hama, Homs and Raqqa to the administrative border with Aleppo province.
