Drone attack | Strikes hit oil wells under the control of Iranian-backed militias in Al-Bokamal desert

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have reported that an unidentified drone targeted, this dawn, oil wells in Al-Bokamal desert in rural Deir Ezzor, near the Syria-Iraq border.  According to SOHR sources the targeted wells have been rehabilitated by Iranian-backed militias, after they had been destroyed by ISIS during its control of the area. No further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the aerial attack.

On March 14, SOHR sources in Homs city in central Syria said that a “Charity” recruited young people from the city and residents of the city from different provinces, offering monthly salaries in return for joining the pro-Iranian militias.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the task of the recruits was to protect and guard the Iranian oil pipeline from Iraq to Homs, where they would protect the line from the Syrian-Iraqi border to Homs province.

It is worth noting that dozens of young people were recruited, as Iranians continued exploiting the disastrous living conditions of Syrians in the Syrian regime-held areas by offering financial incentives and continuous usage of religion and sectarianism.
