Al-Raqqah | Dispute between Russians and Iranians over oil coming from SDF-held areas causes the closure of two crossings connecting regime-held areas to SDF-held areas
Al-Raqqah Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:
Reliable sources have informed SOHR that the two crossings connecting regime-held areas to areas controlled by the SDF in Raqqa governorate, were closed three days ago due to a dispute between Russian forces and the Iranian-backed the “Fourth Division” forces.
According to Syrian Observatory sources, Russian forces asked the “Fourth Division” to have oil shipments coming from the SDF-held areas, under their command and direct supervision, but the “Fourth Division” rejected the Russian request, which led to a dispute between them, causing the closure of the two crossings for the third day in a row from the side of the regime to civilian movement, traffic, oil tankers and trucks loaded with food and goods.
SOHR sources just reported that the security checkpoints of the regime continue to close two crossings connecting areas under their control to SDF-held areas in Raqqa province, preventing civilian buses and trucks loaded with food and goods from passing, while civilians stranded at the crossings suffer from tragic conditions.
SOHR activists have reported seeing civilians stranded at the crossings waiting in the open to be allowed to cross near regime checkpoints. Meanwhile, the reasons behind the closure of these two crossings remained unknown.
