Islamic State mines the Ancient City of Palmyra

Homs Province:

IS militants have planted IEDs and mines in the Ancient City of Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs; it is unknown whether they have mined the city in order to destroy the antiquities or to prevent the regime forces from getting advance towards the city.

 

Clashes took place between the regime forces and allied militiamen against IS militants around the village of Om Jame’ in the eastern countryside of Homs, information about casualties on both sides.
