Anniversary of Sultan al-Atrash’s death | Residents demonstrate in Jabal Al-Arab, calling for the toppling of Syrian regime and immediate release of detainees

Al-Suwaidaa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported a demonstration by the people of Al-Quraya town in Al-Suwaidaa countryside on the anniversary of the death of Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, the Commander General of the grand Syrian Revolution in 1925 against the French.

 

Tens of the people were seen participating in a demonstrator in Al-Quraya town, the heartland of Sultan Pasha al-Atrash, lifting placards with slogans written on them calling for the release of detainees held in regime prisons, while other slogans read “Religion is for Allah and the homeland is for all”. The demonstrators also called for the toppling of the Syrian regime, chanting several slogans such as “Long Live Syria, and own with Bashar, we bow before nothing but Allah”.

 

On February 18, Observatory activists said that anti-regime graffiti left by people in the city of Al-Suwaidaa on the wall of the city, some of which reads: “Revolution until the last drop of blood – Bashar, we don’t want you, freedom forever, the spirit of the revolution in the country’s people heart.”
