Damascus countryside | Unknown assailants throw grenade at regime checkpoint in Kanaker town

Damascus Countryside Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources have reported an explosion, in the early hours of the morning, near the town of Kanaker in the western countryside of Damascus. The explosion was caused by grenade thrown by unknown assailants at a checkpoint belonging to the regime forces stationed on the eastern outskirts of the town. No casualties have been reported.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the regime’s surrounding checkpoints in the town of Kanaker are tightening security measures, as they do checks on all those entering and leaving the town.

In mid-March, the town of Kanaker witnessed a mass demonstration on the anniversary of the start of the Syrian Revolution, during which the residents demanded the overthrow of the Syrian regime and the release of the detainees in the regime’s security services prisons.
