SOHR | “Reports of clashes between Iranian-backed and Russian-backed militias in Homs and Aleppo untrue”

SOHR sources have denied reports that suggested that clashes broke out in the last hours in the desert of Homs, between pro-Iranian “Fatimiyoun Brigade” militias and the Russian-backed “Fifth Corps.”

Also, Syrian Observatory sources say that reports of clashes among pro-Iranian militias in eastern Aleppo, are untrue. Where the issue of the Iranian presence in Syria is being exploited by some to promote baseless news, taking advantage of the media focus on the Iranian presence in Syria, as we have seen in many news and information which are baseless.

For example, since SOHR pointed out to the escalating role of the “Fatimiyoun Brigade” militia, as it has become Iran’s second powerful force in Syria after Lebanon’s Hezbollah, many have begun to promote and spread false news about the “Fatimiyoun Brigade.”

Yesterday, reliable sources informed SOHR that seven people from Al-Mayadeen in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor joined the Russian-backed 5th Corps in west Euphrates region for fear of being forced to drive to the Iranian-backed militia of “Al-Sheikh Brigade”. Meanwhile, two other young men have fled to SDF-held areas in Al-Tabaqah area from areas under the control of the Iranians in the west of Euphrates for fear of being forced to drive to military service in regime army.
