After combing operations this morning | Turkish forces tour alone Latakia-Aleppo highway

SOHR activists have reported seeing Turkish forces running a patrol on Latakia-Aleppo international highway “M4”, as the patrol set off from Tarnabeh village in the east of Idlib and headed to Jisr Al-Shughour in the western countryside of Idlib.

SOHR sources reported earlier this morning substantive deployment of Turkish forces on Latakia-Aleppo international highway, running through Idlib province, where Turkish forces and military vehicles deployed from west of Ariha to Jisr al-Shughour in west Idlib countryside in order to comb the road and dismantle landmines and IEDs. Observatory sources also said that Turkish forces combed the road between Idlib city and Saraqeb.

On February 2, SOHR sources reported substantial deployment of Turkish forces from Ma’rat Misrin and Al-Fu’ah in the east and north-east of Idlib countryside to Idlib city.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, this substantial deployment came as a part of combing operations launched by Turkish forces in the area, including dismantling IEDs and detonating landmines.

A day earlier, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored Turkish forces deploying surveillance cameras along Aleppo-Latakia international highway “M4”, from the section near Ariha city, south of Idlib, to the area of Bdama near the city of Jisr al-Shughour in western Idlib countryside.
