Routine patrol | US forces tour areas in rural Al-Hasakah
SOHR sources have reported that a US patrol of four armoured vehicles has set off from Rubariya airbase in Al-Malikiyah countryside (Dayrik) in Al-Hasakah province, touring several villages in Al-Malikiyah countryside, near the Syria-Turkey border, then it headed to Ain Diwar area near Iraq-Syria-Turkey border triangle.
On March 26, SOHR sources reported that the International Coalition’s movements were escalating in Syria, particularly the north-east Syria region, where the Coalition ran routine patrols almost daily, paid periodical visits to civil and military bodies to be aware of the recent developments and situation on the ground, participated in security campaigns carried out by Syria Democratic Forces against ISIS cells, and brought in large reinforcement from Kurdistan Region of Iraq to its bases in Al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor.
According to SOHR statistics, the International Coalition brought in 685 vehicles and trucks, between January 1, 2021 and March 24, 2021, carrying military and logistical supplies, including heavy and medium weapons and armoured vehicles. It is worth noting that all reinforcement crossed into Syria in 17 batched, via Al-Waleed and Smelka crossings from Kurdistan Region of Iraq, which could be distributed as follows:
- In January: at least six batches entered Syria between January 4 and January 20.
- In February: seven batches entered Syria between February 3 and February 27.
- In March: four batches entered Syria between March 4 and March 24.
The vehicles and trucks headed to the Coalition’s military bases in Al-Hasakah and Deir Ezzor, particularly Tel Baydar, Rumaylan in Al-Hasakah, Koniko gas field and Al-Omar oil field in Deir Ezzor.
Meanwhile, preparations continued to establish a new base by the International Coalition after seizing a plot of land near the Iraq-Syria-Turkey border triangle in Ain Diwar area in Al-Hasakah countryside.
The International Coalition had dismissed all reports circulated on its hectic movements in north-east Syria region, regarding the large reinforcement which were brought in to Syria from Kurdistan Region of Iraq and its efforts to establish a new military base in Al-Hasakah countryside. However, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) confirmed all of these movements.
If the International Coalition denies such movements, then why it has seized a peace of land in Ain Diwar near Iraq-Syria-Turkey border triangle and brought in large number of units and military and logistical supplies?! And what tens of armoured vehicles, which had entered Syria a few days earlier, and other logistical and military equipment are doing in the region, as long as the Coalition claims that all convoys crossing from Iraq to Syria carrying food supplies only?!
On February 20, SOHR sources monitored military trucks of the International Coalition heading to the American bases in the area of Al-Malikiya “Derek” at the Syrian-Turkish border, as part of their preparations for establishing a new military base at the Syria-Iraq-Turkey border triangle in the area of Ain Dewar in al-Hasakah countryside.
