Feuding factions | Indiscriminate gunfire kills man and injures his daughter in Afrin city

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable sources have informed SOHR that a civilian from Kafr Sajna in the southern countryside of Idlib was killed, while his daughter was injured due to indiscriminate gunfire during an armed fight, in the early hours of Wednesday morning, between “Sultan Murad Division” and the Military Police on the road to Raju in Afrin city, which is under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions in the north-western countryside of Aleppo.

 

This morning, SOHR sources reported an exchange of fire in the city of Afrin, which is under the control of Turkish forces and the factions of “Olive Branch” operations room between the faction of “Sultan Murad Division” and the Military Police. No information was reported on the causes and nature of the dispute, the clashes, however, soon ended.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion in Afrin city which is under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions, caused by the detonation of an IED in a car in Al-Mahmoudiyah neighbourhood, near Osama Ibn Zayd mosque in Afrin city centre. No casualties were reported.

 

On March 27, SOHR sources reported violent clashes in the Al-Basuta area in Afrin countryside, which is controlled by Turkish forces and proxy factions, north-west of Aleppo, between “al-Hamza Division” faction and a group which defected recently from the division and joined the “al-Sham Corps”.

 

The clashes, in which heavy weapons were used, left a member of the “al-Sham Corps” dead and more than ten militiamen wounded on both sides, while military reinforcement of the “Rights Restitution Committee” arrived to defuse the fighting.
