Gunmen attack checkpoint and headquarters of Turkish-backed factions in rural Aleppo, while the factions foil suicide attack

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that gunmen from the eastern countryside of Aleppo have attacked a checkpoint of the Turkish-backed police near Al-Ku’ayba village in Al-Ra’i city in northern Aleppo, where clashes erupted between the police and the attackers who chanted slogans supporting ISIS. The gunmen also attacked a military headquarters of the Turkish-backed militiamen in the same area, injuring one seriously.

 

On the other hand, Turkish-backed factions have foiled a suicide attack by arresting several women with explosive belts traveling in a car in Al-Villat street in Afrin city. No casualties have been reported.

 

SOHR sources reported earlier this morning an explosion in the city of Afrin, which is under the control of Turkish forces and factions of “Olive Branch” operations room in the north-west of Aleppo, caused by an IED exploded in a car in the street of al-Siyassiya in the city, injuring the driver and causing material damage.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported an exchange of fire in the city of Afrin, which is under the control of Turkish forces and the factions of “Olive Branch” operations room between the faction of “Sultan Murad Division” and the Military Police. No information was reported on the causes and nature of the dispute, the clashes, however, soon ended.

 

On Tuesday, SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion in Afrin city which is under the control of Turkish forces and their proxy factions, caused by the detonation of an IED in a car in Al-Mahmoudiyah neighbourhood, near Osama Ibn Zayd mosque in Afrin city centre. No casualties were reported.
