Ras Al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) | Turkish-backed militias expel displaced families from Deir Ezzor

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that members of Al-Hamza Division and Al-Mu’tasem Brigade in Ras Al-Ain city in areas under the control of “Peace Spring” areas in Al-Hasakah countryside have expelled several families who have been displaced from Deir Ezzor.

According to SOHR sources, the Turkish-backed factions forced these families out of their houses in the early hours of Tuesday under the pretext that “they were unwanted”. Accordingly, the family, mostly of children and women, have stayed and slept in the open in a park.

On April 3, SOHR sources reported a state of security tension in Ras Al-Ain city following the armed fight between “Sultan Murad Division” and a group of the same faction known as “Al-Hasakah Shield”, which left several militiamen injured. A day earlier, SOHR activists documented the injury of three Turkish-backed militiamen in clashes with machineguns between two groups of Sultan Murad Division in Ras Al-Ain city in Al-Hasakah countryside. Unconfirmed reports suggested that the clashes erupted after these members had illicit pills.

On March 28, SOHR sources reported clashes in the early hours of Sunday morning between a group of “Al-Muwali Battalion” and the security force of the “al-Hamza Division” in the Turkish-held city of Ras al-Ain (Sere Kaniye) in al-Hasakeh countryside. The reasons behind these clashes remained unknown, while both sides were seen bringing in military reinforcements to the area.
