Israeli attack | Weapons warehouse destroyed and three militiamen killed in strikes on Iranian-backed militias’ position in Damascus

SOHR activists have documented new Israeli bombardment on military positions of Iranian-backed militias nearby Damascus in the early hours of Thursday morning, as Israeli strikes destroyed a weapons and ammunition warehouse believed to be used by militias affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah in a military post near Al-Demas area.

The Israeli attack also left three militiamen dead, but it is not known if they were Lebanese or foreigners affiliated to Iranian-backed militias. The death toll is expected to rise further as the attack left several militiamen injured, some seriously. There are unconfirmed reports of more casualties.

On March 16, SOHR activists reported hearing loud explosions in the surrounding areas of Damascus, caused by Israeli airstrikes which targeted two weapons warehouses of Iranian forces in regime military positions, a few kilometres away from Damascus international airport. Meanwhile, regime Air-Defences fired several missiles, attempting to intercept the Israeli missiles, but no casualties were reported.
