SOHR | “Reports circulated by ‘Russian Reconciliation Centre’ on the death of five civilians by Turkish-backed factions’ artillery fire on Tel Rifaat untrue”

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: Reliable SOHR sources have confirmed that reports circulated by the “Russian Reconciliation Centre” in a statement issued yesterday on the death of five civilians and injury of six others due to artillery fire by Turkish-backed factions on Tel Rifaat city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which is under the control of Kurdish forces and hosts a Russian base and regime positions, are completely false.

SOHR sources confirm that the area did not experience such incidents in the past few days. SOHR would like to point out that a murder took place on Monday dawn, April 5, in Al-Zahraa town inhabited by citizens of Shiite community in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which left six people dead, including a man, his wife, his two daughters and his uncle. At that time, the regime media outlets stated that the husband opened fire on the family before he killed himself.

The statement issued by the “Russian Reconciliation Centre” read “on April seven between 18:30 and 19:10 Russia time, artillery shells, fired from areas under the control of Turkish military forces, killed five civilians in Tel Rifaat city in Aleppo province. Also six people, including two children, were injured”.
