Aleppo | Uncertainty surrounds the death of child near frontlines between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have documented the death of a child nearby Mare’ city in the northern countryside of Aleppo due to gunfire of unknown origin, while he was shepherding sheep. The victim’s family have accused the Kurdish forces stationed in positions near the city of “shooting the child”.

It is worth noting that tense calm has been prevailing in the frontlines of the northern and north-eastern countryside of Aleppo, which is under the control of Turkish-backed factions, for the second consecutive day.

On April 9, SOHR sources reported that Turkish forces stationed in military bases in Aleppo countryside shelled Kurdish positions in the surrounding areas of Hazawan in Al-Bab city in the eastern countryside with artillery fire. No casualties were reported.

A few hours earlier, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that reports circulated by the “Russian Reconciliation Centre” in a statement issued yesterday on the death of five civilians and injury of six others due to artillery fire by Turkish-backed factions on Tel Rifaat city in the northern countryside of Aleppo, which is under the control of Kurdish forces and hosts a Russian base and regime positions, are completely false.
