ISIS resurgence | Unknown assailants assassinate civilian in Deir ez-Zor countryside, and others kill SDF member in eastern Aleppo

As security chaos continues in SDF-held areas, a member of the 2nd Regiment of the “Northern Shams” faction of the Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) was killed, as a car he was travelling in was targeted, south of the Traffic Police branch on the outskirts of the city of Manbij, east of Aleppo.

Meanwhile, SOHR sources have reported that gunmen, believed to be ISIS cells, assassinated a civilian in the town of Diban, east of Deir ez-Zor, after being targeted by several bullets. According to Syrian Observatory sources, the victim was accused of “collaborating with SDF.”

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 724 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.

The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 254 civilians including 18 children and 14 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 461 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.
