Russia’ military build-ups | Forces set up military base and new posts for 5th Corps forces, south-east of al-Raqqa

Raqqa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources have reported that Russian forces have begun to establish a base and military posts in the south-eastern countryside of Raqqa.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, Russian forces have begun to establish a new helicopters airstrip, posts and military positions near the village of Ma’adan Atiq, which is controlled by regime forces south-east of Raqqa. Russian forces have started transporting equipment and logistics to their new positions by helicopters. The site will also include posts and positions for the Russian-backed Fifth Corps in order to protect and form a defense line for Russian posts.
