Demographic change in Afrin | Residential complex constructed in Shirawa for housing displaced people

Aleppo Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: As demographic change by Turkish forces and their proxy factions in Afrin city and surrounding areas is in progress, SOHR sources have reported that Kuwaiti-backed “Sham Al-Khair Charity” has constructed a housing association called “Kuwait Al-Rahma” in a village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, under direct supervision of the “Civili Council” in Afrin. The construction of housing is underway in a complex includes nearly 300 houses, a mosque, a dispensary, a school and a Koranic institute with the aim of housing displaced people from various Syrian areas.

On March 26, SOHR sources reported that the National Coalition for Syrian Revolutionary and Opposition Forces exerted diligent efforts, at Turkish government’s orders, to get European support for establishing commercial and architectural projects in Afrin, after most of the canton’s residents had been forced to displace, as the Syrian National Coalition aimed to bring back the Syrian refugee, who had fled military operations in several Syrian provinces to Turkey, to Afrin as a part of Turkeys’ demographic change scheme.

According to SOHR sources, the Syrian National Coalition’s attempts to get European support failed.
