After ten days of medical care | Syrian centenarian recovers from coronavirus in Al-Hasakah

SOHR sources have reported a simple ceremony in Washo Kani hospital in areas under the control of the “Autonomous Administration in northern and north-eastern Syria” in Al-Hasakah province to a 103-old-woman who recovered from COVID-19, after a medical care in the hospital for ten days. Meanwhile, a state of joyful prevailed in the hospital, as the medical staff gathered around the woman, who won her battle against the virus, while she was exiting the hospital and applauded her like in other countries around the world.

On April 14, reliable sources in the north-east Syria region in areas held by the “Autonomous Administration” told SOHR that the whole region experienced catastrophic situations regarding the outbreak of coronavirus in various cities, towns and villages, as thousands of confirmed infections recorded on a daily basis, while the majority of hospitals reached their full operational capacity and were unable to receive new infections.

Meanwhile, medical sources confirmed that the cause of this outbreak is the new UK variant that reached the region. This development came in light of a catastrophic medical situation and lack of assistance by international organizations in the region.

SOHR, therefore, appeals to the organizations concerned to provide urgent support to the health sector in north-east Syria and all areas in Syria to save civilians.
