Security chaos in SDF-held area | Unidentified gunmen shoot civilian in eastern Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the injury of a civilian shot by unidentified gunmen in  Al- Shuhayl town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, in SDF-held areas. Yesterday, SOHR sources reported new details regarding the identity of the man and woman who were killed, a day earlier, in the town of Al- Shuhayl, as reliable sources said that the victims were a man and his wife working for the “Al-Birr and Al-Ihssan Charity Association” operating in Deir ez-Zor in the Syrian regime-held areas, and they were on a mission for the Association. No information has been reported on the causes and motives that led to their deaths.

This comes in light of the growing activities of ISIS cells in SDF-held areas in Deir ez-Zor countryside.

The other day, SOHR sources said that two unidentified gunmen on a motorcycle targeted a man and a woman in a car in the town of Al-Shuhayl, east of Deir ez-Zor. The attack resulted in their immediate death, without identifying their identities to date.

On April 16, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of a top security official(one of Kawader), who is responsible for the security situation in Hajin and in charge of “Deir Ezzor Civil Council”, after unknown gunmen opened fire on his car which had broken down, near Al-Ruwayshid area on the road to Al-Kherafi between Deir Ezzor and Al-Hasakah.

It is worth noting that “Kawader” are officials supervising civil, security and military institutions in areas under the control of the “Autonomous Administration”.
