Daraa Governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that unidentified gunmen assassinated two people, one of whom was a former emir in Jabhat al-Nusra, and joined the Fifth Corps after they struck a reconciliation deal with the regime. They were shot dead in al-Laja area on the outskirts of the town of Al-Musifra in Daraa countryside.

Meanwhile, a member of the regime’s customs was shot dead by unidentified gunmen in front of his house near the “Al-Wihda Al-Irshadiya” on the Nawa-al-Sheikh Meskin road.

This comes in light of the escalating assassinations in southern Syria, targeting military personnel, regime collaborators and settled-status members.

SOHR activists have documented the death of a child affected by the injury he has in an IED explosion this morning in Inkhil city in the north-western countryside of Daraa.

SOHR activists documented earlier today the injury of two children due to an IED explosion on the road between Jasim and Inkhil towns in the western countryside of Daraa.

Observatory sources had reported that the body of an unidentified young man was found with gunshot wounds at head and dumped on the outskirts of Tasil town in the western countryside of Daraa. The young man was taken to Al-Omary mosque in the town, as anyone may identify him.

Since the beginning of the security chaos in Daraa in early June 2019, Syrian Observatory activists have documented more than 1001 attacks and assassination attempts by gunfire and detonations of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs. These attacks and assassinations claimed the lives of 679 persons, categorised as follows:

• 186 civilians, including 12 women and 19 children

• 314 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services

• 127 fighters of factions that struck “reconciliation and settlements” deals with the regime and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders

• 24 Syrian militiamen affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces

• 27 members of the so-called 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
