Renewed clashes in al-Qamishli | “Asaish” captures positions and expels “National Defense” members

Al-Hasakah governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR sources say that clashes continue to flare up in several areas in al-Qamishli city between the “National Defense” and “Asaish”, where the “Asaish” was able to advance and control side streets on the northern side of the Tay neighbourhood, and expelled “National Defense” members from them.

Hours ago, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored renewed clashes between the “National Defense” forces and the Internal Security Forces “Asaish” in the neighbourhood of Tay in the city of al-Qamishli, where the Syrian Observatory has monitored the fall of rocket-propelled grenades on residential areas in the neighbourhood, originated from the National Defense, which led to the burning of a number of the houses.

The clashes have expanded in the neighbourhood to new frontlines, reaching the end of Gulf Street in addition to the southern sector of neighbourhood.

This comes in light of the failure of Russian-sponsored negotiations to reach a solution leading to the end of the clashes.

The Syrian Observatory has documented the death of a child, and the wounding of five others, including two little girls, after being shot by members of the “National Defense” while they were near Tay neighbourhood in the city of al-Qamishli, as clashes renewed between the National Defense Forces and the Internal Security Forces “Asaish.”
