Security campaign | SDF storm border used for smuggling in eastern Deir Ezzor, killing a worker

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that a military group of Syria Democratic Forces have stormed a river crossing used for smuggling between the banks of the Euphrates river in Theban town in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. According to SOHR sources, an SDF member opened fire indiscriminately on the crossing, which resulted in the death of a worker working in the crossing which connects regime-held areas and SDF-controlled areas.

On April 17, reliable sources informed SOHR that an SDF patrol stormed a river crossing in the village of Al-Houssan in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, which connects regime-controlled areas and SDF-held areas across the Euphrates River.

According to Syrian Observatory sources, the patrol members found some pipes used for smuggling oil and its derivatives to regime-controlled areas, and they pulled them out. It is worth noting that oil trucks continued to enter regime-held areas coming from SDF-held areas on a daily basis.
