Failure of negotiations in al-Qamishli | “Al-Asaish” arrests director of the Syrian TV Centre from his home in al-Hasakah

Al-Hasakah governorate – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights:

SOHR activists say that Internal Security Forces “Al-Asaish” arrested director of the Syrian TV Centre “Fadil Hammad” in al-Hasaka governorate, from his home near Al-Hasaka Street in al-Qamishli city, where they took him to security centres. No further details have been reported about his fate so far.

According to the sources, one of the main reasons for lack of agreement in the negotiations is that SDF demanded the control of the neighbourhood of Tay and the entire district of Halko, without any interference from the regime forces, while the Syrian regime rejected SDF’s demands.

Meanwhile, tense calm continues throughout the city of al-Qamishli in al-Hasaka province, without reaching solutions to date, in light of the Russian-sponsored negotiations.

Moreover, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the death of a National Defense member from his wounds sustained in the events in al-Qamishli.

Since the outbreak of the clashes with “al-Asaish” on Tuesday evening, April 20, the death toll of the National Defense rose to six, while two Asaish members were killed in the clashes in the same period.

Also, a child was shot dead by National Defense, and the head of a clan was shot dead by sniper. Clashes and indiscriminate gunfire left nine civilians injured, while six Asaish members and seven National Defense members were all injured.

Furthermore, the bodies of three National Defense members killed in clashes with Asaish in al-Tay neighbourhood in the past hours and days, were handed over to Russian police.
