Deteriorating security in south Syria | Unknown gunmen try to hijack taxi in al-Suwaidaa and open fire on the driver

Al-Suwaidaa Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that a taxi driver sustained various injuries, as unknown gunmen lured him to an area near the distillery in al-Suwaidaa city and shot him with an individual weapon, after they failed to hijack his car.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported an explosion in the city of al-Suwaidaa in south Syria region, as a grenade was thrown at the house of a civilian in the city, after which gunmen opened fire on the house before they escaped. The explosion caused material damage only. It is worth noting that areas in al-Suwaidaa province witnessed a surge in security chaos, including kidnappings and car theft, in light of the lack of regime’s security measures.
