Syrian desert | Russian jets execute successive airstrikes on Hama and al-Raqqah desert, along with ongoing combing operations
SOHR sources have reported that successive airstrikes hit positions in Ithriya area in the east of Hama and al-Raqqah desert, along with ongoing combing operations in search for ISIS cells. No casualties have been reported so far.
SOHR activists documented the death of a regime soldier and the injury of two others, after ISIS members attacked, a regime military post near Jabal Al-Bishri area in the southern desert of Deir Ezzor, using a pickup vehicle with a submachine gun installed over it.
Yesterday, SOHR reported a new surprise attack by ISIS in the eastern countryside of Hama in the Syrian desert, as ISIS members attacked a group of the Russian-backed 5th Corps in Abu al-Elaj area in the north-east of Salamiayyah. Clashes erupted between the two sides, leaving two members of the 5th Corps dead and three others injured. It is worth noting that the targeted group left the frontlines of Idlib countryside on Friday afternoon, heading to the eastern countryside of Hama.
