Security vacuum in Deir Ezzor | Unknown gunmen attack SDF military post with RPGs, while others kill guard of civil council

Deir Ezzor Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR sources have reported that unknown gunmen targeted, with RPGs, a military post of Syria Democratic Forces near the “irrigation canal” in al-Zarr village in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, following clashes with machineguns between both sides, before the attackers escaped. However, no casualties have been reported. Meanwhile, SDF brought in military reinforcement to the area.

 

On the other hand, unknown gunmen, believed to be of ISIS cells killed a guard of Hajin Council in Deir Ezzor countryside, before they escaped.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists said that unidentified gunmen, believed to be of ISIS cells, opened fire on an SDF member in the town of Shuhayl, east of Deir Ezzor. The SDF member sustained injuries and he was taken to the hospital.

 

As more fatalities are recorded and updated regularly, the number of people who were killed in areas within the four provinces of Aleppo, Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah and Al-Hasakah, in addition to the SDF-held area of Manbij in the north-east of Aleppo rose to 733 fighters, civilians, oil workers, and officials in service parties.

 

The Syrian Observatory documented the assassination of 260 civilians including 18 children and 15 women by armed cells in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, al-Hasakah countryside, al-Raqqah city and countryside, and Manbij area. In addition, 464 SDF fighters, including local leaders, were assassinated in the same areas.

 

Also, four members of International Coalition were killed. The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights Human also documented tens of injuries due to these assassinations.
