Syrian desert | Russian fighter jets renew intensive airstrikes on ISIS positions

 

SOHR sources say that Russian airstrikes continue on ISIS positions  in the Syrian desert, where Russian jets executed about 15 airstrikes since the morning on al-Bishri mountain range in the countryside of Deir Ezzor and the adjacent desert of al-Raqqa. The strikes targeted caves and bunkers which are possible ISIS positions, according to the Russian’s targeting strategy, amid reports of casualties.

 

SOHR sources said earlier today that ISIS launched an attack, in Tuesday early morning, on positions of regime forces and Iranian-backed militants in al-Tayarat area in  al-Mayadeen desert in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor. Meanwhile, regime forces have fired flares after monitoring movements in the area, followed by violent clashes and exchange of fire between the two sides. The clashes left at least three of regime soldiers dead while several others were injured.
