“De-escalation zone” | Explosions hit Sahl al-Ghab, as fighter jets flying over the region

SOHR activists have reported hearing several explosions near Zayzoun power plant, caused by airstrikes executed by fighter jets believed to be Russian on positions on the administrative border between Idlib and Hama. Meanwhile, local sources have suggested that a military position in Kherbet al-Naqous in Sahl al-Ghab was attacked, but no further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the attack.

On April 7, SOHR sources monitored Russian jets flying over Idlib province, where they executed at least two airstrikes on Horsh Basanqoul in Idlib countryside, but no casualties were reported. The airstrikes coincided with ongoing flights by these jets and other reconnaissance drones over the area.

A day earlier, SOHR sources said that Russian jets executed airstrikes with cluster bomb on Horsh Basanqoul in west Idlib countryside, which hosts military headquarters of jihadist factions. There were also makeshift camps near the targeted site, but no casualties were reported.
