Deir Ezzor | Internet service interrupted in regime-held areas, as fiber cable near Palmyra sustained damage

Reliable sources have told SOHR that internet service has been interrupted in regime-held areas in Deir Ezzor province, as the fiber cable supplying these areas with internet has sustained damage in an area near Palmyra in the eastern countryside of Homs. The sources suggested that the damage of the cable may be attributed to military operations between ISIS cells and regime forces in the area.

A few hours ago, SOHR activists documented the death of four regime soldiers and loyalists and the injury of eight others in attack by ISIS members in Palmyra countryside in east Homs desert.

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1,406 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 149 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, al-Raqqah, Homs, al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.

Also, four civilians working in gas fields, tens of shepherds and other civilians were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 936 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period.
