ISIS resurgence | Group of regime soldiers and loyalists ambushed in Deir Ezzor desert, many killed and injured

Reliable sources have told SOHR that ISIS members attacked military vehicles of regime forces and loyalists a few hours ago, as the regime’s vehicles were leaving al-Kamm oil station in east Deir Ezzor desert. According to SOHR sources, ISIS members ambushed the regime soldiers and loyal militiamen and opened machinegun fire on their vehicles, killing two and injuring others, some seriously, which may raise the death toll.

 

On Sunday, SOHR activists documented the death of four regime soldiers and loyalists and the injury of eight others in attack by ISIS members in Palmyra countryside in east Homs desert.

 

Since 24th of March 2019, SOHR has documented the killing of at least 1,408 regime soldiers and loyalists of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, including at least two Russians, and 149 Iranian-backed militiamen of non-Syrian nationalities. All were killed in attacks, bombings and ambushes by the “Islamic State”, west of Euphrates in the deserts of Deir Ezzor, al-Raqqah, Homs, al-Suwaidaa, Hama and Aleppo.

 

Also, four civilians working in gas fields, tens of shepherds and other civilians were killed and documented by SOHR in the same period, from late March 2019 until today. They were killed in attacks by ISIS cells. While 936 ISIS members were also killed in attacks and bombardment in the same period.
