Turkish occupation | The “Wali” of Urfa visits Tel Abyad city

Al-Raqqah Province: SOHR sources say that the “Wali” of the Turkish city of Urfa paid a surprise visit, this morning, to the city of Tel Abyad in “Peace Spring” areas in northern al-Raqqah, as he was seen touring the markets there. It is worth noting that this is the second visit by the “Wali” of Urfa to areas under the control of “Peace Spring” operations room, after a visit to Ras al-Ain in al-Hasakah on March 8, 2021.

On that day, March 8, SOHR sources reported that the “Wali” of Urfa, escorted by commanders of the Turkish border guard forces “Jandarma” and other Turkish officials, has paid a visit to Ras al-Ain city (Sere Kaniye) in “Peace Spring” areas in the north-western countryside of al-Hasakah.

SOHR activists reported seeing the “Wali” of Urfa and Turkish officials touring Ras al-Ain city’s markets and talking to a large number of the city’s residents. This visit coincided with abroad deployment of militiamen of the Turkish-backed “National Army” throughout Ras al-Ain city, as well as blocking the highways to the city.
