Demanding overthrow of regime and release of detainees | As presidential election approaches in Syria, people of Daraa stage demonstration

Daraa province: Dozens of people of  Jasim city, north of Daraa, staged a demonstration this evening, demanding the overthrow of the regime and the release of detainees in its prisons.

This demonstration coincides with the incoming presidential election, as al-Assad is running for a new round, in light of the popular rejection.

On May 2,  SOHR reported a demonstration in Daraa Al-Balad and the city of Al-Harak, east of Daraa, on Saturday evening, in solidarity with the people of Um Batna town in the countryside of al-Quneitra, as regime forces besieged and cordoned off the town, after a military post of regime forces in the village of Jabba was attacked.

The day before, SOHR  activists reported seeing the residents of Nawa city staging a protest in the evening, demanding the release of detainees held in the regime’s prisons.
