Al-Suwaidaa | Member of regime forces killed, amid protests in city

Al-Suwaidaa province: A regime soldier was shot dead by unknown gunmen in al-Suwaidaa city.

This incident comes in light of the security chaos in south Syria region.

On the other hand, residents of al-Suwaidaa city staged a demonstration demanding that law be enforced against gangs and protesting the poor security conditions. Furthermore, the demonstrators denounced the security services’ disregard of the increasing lack of security.

On May 2, SOHR activists reported a state of tension in the village of Walgha in the western countryside of al-Suwaidaa, as a person threw a grenade at the house of another in the village.  The matter evolved into an exchange of fire between the two sides, in which the person who threw the bomb was killed and another member of his family was injured. On the other hand, two persons of the other family were injured. This development came in light of security chaos and the proliferation of weapons in al-Suwaidaa governorate and all over Syria.widespread proliferation of weapons in As-Suwayda and all of Syria.
