Protesters try to assault Rudaw channel's office in al-Qamishli, while Asayish intervene
Al-Hasakah province: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists have reported that a group of civilians staged a demonstration today, in front of the United Nations headquarters in the city of al-Qamishli, demanding the lifting of isolation imposed on the leader of the Kurdistan Workers Party (PKK), Abdullah Ocalan, and condemning the Turkish attacks on the mountains of Kurdistan region of Iraq and the mountains of Turkey, and Turkey’s retention of the Euphrates river water.
Meanwhile, some demonstrators tried to enter the office of Rudaw channel, which is located near the UN headquarters in al-Qamishli. However, Asayish intervened and prevented the protesters from storming the channel’s headquarters, without any assault on the staff.
Other sources say that there were no attacks on the channel’s headquarters, and that the demonstrators have gathered in front of the office of Rudaw channel with aim to stage a sit-in protest, while the protesters were attempting to deliver a message to the channel.
