Al-Qamishli | NDF members take food baskets and aid supplies by force in Zenoud

Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists in al-Qamishli city have reported that members of the National Defence Forces (NDF), based in Zenoud village (Zanda) in the south of al-Qamishli city, have taken by force, after shooting randomly in the air, food baskets and aid supplies from “al-Ousrah”, family in English, a Christian charity association that distributes aid supplies in the region.

SOHR reported yesterday that the NDF stepped up their movement in Zanda in the past few days. The NDF erected soil barriers, boosted their posts and deployed more units in the village, amid growing popular anger over these movements. It is worth noting that the regime-backed Tartab Regiment is located near Zanda village.

On May 3, SOHR activists reported seeing several members of the NDF, who used to guard the NDF headquarters in the “Old National Hospital” in the security zone in al-Qamishli city, returning in plainclothes to guard the headquarters.

The number of the NDF members, who returned to the security zone despite the elimination of the military formation in al-Qamishli city a few days earlier, was less than ten.
