Armed attack | Tribal gunmen open fire on civilian in al-Suwaidaa countryside

Al-Suwaidaa province: SOHR sources have reported that a civilian sustained injuries after being shot by tribal gunmen in Arra town in the western countryside of al-Suwaidaa, where the civilian was taken to al-Suwaidaa National Hospital. However, the reasons behind this attack remained unknown.

 

On May 14, reliable sources in south Syria region informed the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that a group of residents from the town of al-Qariya in the south-western countryside of al-Suwaidaa and another of clans exchanged fire in the town, but no casualties were reported.

 

A day earlier, a dispute broke out between several civilians in the village of Deir al-Sha’eer in the north-eastern countryside of al-Suwaidaa, which evolved into a armed fight that left one person dead and another injured. However, the reasons behind the clashes remained unknown. In addition, the director of the “Civil Initiative and Reconciliation” committee in al-Suwaidaa sustained injury, after he was shot near al-Basil roundabout in the city.
