Rural Afrin | Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces trade fire

Aleppo province: SOHR sources in north-west Aleppo countryside have reported exchange of fire, with artillery and heavy and medium machineguns, between Turkish-backed factions and Kurdish forces on the frontlines of Jalbal- Ibbin in Afrin countryside, but no casualties have been reported.

Yesterday, Turkish forces fired artillery shells on frontlines of Maraanaz village, in Kurdish-held areas in the countryside of Aleppo, but no casualties were reported.

A day earlier, SOHR activists reported that fires broke out in agricultural crops on the outskirts of the village of Um Hawash, in areas controlled by Kurdish forces in the north of Aleppo, after the crops were targeted by incendiary bullets by members of factions affiliated to the Turkish-backed National Army.

On May 12, SOHR sources reported that members of al-Sham Corps of the National Army set fire to olive fields around Barrad village of Shirawa district in Afrin countryside in northern Aleppo, where the arsons expanded to large spaces on the village’s outskirts.
