Deir Ezzor countryside | Huge explosion hits gas pipeline, and unknown military battalion claims responsibility of the attack

Deir Ezzor province: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists have reported that al-Jibisah-al-Rayyan gas pipeline exploded in the north-west of Deir Ezzor due to an attack by unknown individuals, while Observatory activists obtained a footage showing the huge explosion of the gas pipeline. Meanwhile, “Al-Baraa Bin Malik” military battalion, affiliated to al-Sharqiyah Brigades, claimed responsibility of the attack.

On February 27, SOHR sources reported that al-Jibisa-al-Rayyan gas pipeline, which connects between Rumaylan area and Baniyas plant, exploded in Abu Khashab desert in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor. SOHR activists reported outbreak of fire in the gas pipeline, which made it very likely that it was attacked and the perpetrators were believed to be of ISIS cells which were prevalent in Deir Ezzor desert.
