ISIS resurgence | IED explosion targets SDF vehicle in Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights activists have reported that an IED explosion targeted a vehicle of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF) on Hawija road in the city of Al-Busairah in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, which led to the injury of four members who were taken to the hospital for treatment.

This incident comes in light of the activity of ISIS members in the SDF-held areas.

On May 12, gunmen, believed to be ISIS members, stormed a house in the village of al-Hussan, which is under the control of Syrian Democratic Forces (SDF), in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor, and shot dead a displaced person from the town of Khasham. According to sources, the victim was accused of “sorcery”.

On the other hand, gunmen on motorcycles opened fire on a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) with light weapons, in the village of Al-Kabar in the same countryside. However, no casualties were reported.
