Al-Suwaidaa | Civilians die in attack by gunmen setting fire to farmlands
Al-Suwaidaa province: Two civilians died of wounds sustained in clashes erupted today with unidentified gunmen who were setting fire to agricultural lands in the town of Sami’ in the countryside of al-Suwaidaa.
On May 17, reliable sources in south Syria region told SOHR that a state of security tension is prevailing in Arra town in the western countryside of al-Suwaidaa, along with the deployment of gunmen, who are relatives of a man died in al-Suwaidaa National Hospital affected by the injury he had two days ago, after being shot by tribal gunmen in the town.
The victim’s relatives attacked the house of the man accused of killing their son, setting fire to the house. Moreover, the attackers opened fire on fire brigades, preventing them from reaching the house to extinguish the fire. Meanwhile, the town’s dignitaries and tribal elders are exerting diligent efforts to defuse the tension.
Separately, a child was killed a day before after he was hit with indiscriminate gunshot of unknown origin, while he was on the roof of his house in al-Raha town in the south of al-Suwaidaa.
