The city of Daraa witnesses violent clashes and causalities during the operation of “Aasefat al- Janoub (the storm of south)

Daraa Province:

Violent clashes are still taking place between the regime forces and the militiamen loyal to them against more than 51 rebel battalions including the Islamic movement of al-Mothanna, Ahrar al-Sham movement and Jabhat Al-Nusra (al-Qaeda in Levant) aiming to take complete control over the city and several towns at its vicinity, coincided with airstrikes on the clashing area amid mutual shelling. The clashes resulted in the death of 5 members of the rebel and Islamic factions and confirmed information about human losses on the regime forces’ ranks. 

 

The Islamic factions issued a statement that declare the highway of Damascus – Daraa is a military zone and the civilians are prevented to approach because the highway is under attack by Jihadist since the morning of June 25th 2015.

 

The helicopters dropped barrel bombs on areas in the vicinity of brigade 38 near Sayda town, no information about casualties. They also dropped barrel bombs again on areas in the neighborhood of Tariq al-Sadd and neighborhoods of Daraa al-Balad in Daraa city, no information about casualties.

 

The regime forces shelled areas in the towns of Da’el, Ebte’e and al-Mzyrib, information about the death of one man from al-Mzyrib town and other wound.
