Al-Hasakah province: SOHR activists have documented the death of a little girl from Kashkash village affected by the injure she had a few days ago. The girl was hit with an indiscriminate gunshot when members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) were attempting to disperse protestors who staged a demonstration in Qana village in southern al-Hasakah on May 18, demanding the revocation of a decision to increase the fuel prices in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration.

On May 19, SOHR sources reported that the joint presidency of the executive council issued a statement, revoking the decision No. 119 regarding the increase in fuel prices. The decision was made based on demands from the people, as the Autonomous Administration described in its statement which included the following:

“1- Resolution No. 119 passed on May 17, 2021, to increase fuel prices in areas under the control of Autonomous Administration to be revoked.

2- The previous prices, prior to resolution No. 119, to be adopted until a new resolution is passed or a modification is made.”
