Darra | Regime forces launch security campaign in Da’el, amid growing security alert

Darra province: SOHR activists have reported that regime forces have stormed Da’el city in central Darra countryside. as the forces launched wide-scale campaign of arrests, targeting several people. The arrests came after unknown persons had attacked al-Baath party’s headquarter in the city with machine guns, grenades and RPGs.

 

SOHR activists had reported violent clashes in Dael city in central Darra countryside, in the early hours of Thursday morning, between gunmen on one hand, and regime forces and their proxies militiamen one the other. The clashes erupted after the gunmen had attacked al-Baath parties’ headquarters with machine guns, grenades and RPGs.

 

Meanwhile, the clashes stopped with the sunrise and regime forces have cordoned off the region, amid reports of launching security campaigns and arrests.

 

On the other hand, unknown gunmen have attacked, with machine guns and RPGs, a military security checkpoint at Saiyda-al-Ghariyah al-Gharbiyyah road in eastern Darra countryside, while unknown gunmen have targeted regime soldiers stationed at al-Shahir Benayat barrier at al-Sheikh Miskeen-Nawi road in Darra countryside.

 

Accordingly, the number of attacks in the past 24 hours on barriers, posts and centers of the regime forces and security services in different areas in Darra rose to 13.

 

Yesterday, SOHR activists documented an IED explosion near a house in al-Assad square in Darra, but no casualties have been reported. Unknown persons, on the early hours of Wednesday, targeted one of the presidential elections balloting stations with a hand-made bomb in Namer neighborhood in Darra.

 

Syrian Observatory activists also reported that unknown persons sat fire in a municipal building, that worked as a center for voting, in west al-Maliha neighborhood eastern Darra. Other regime forces-held posts and barriers were targeted by bombs and weapons in the early hours of Wednesday in the neighborhood of al-Taybah, al-Herak, Nahtah, Al-Karaq, al-Sahouah, al-Naiemah, Jasem and Namer.
