Rising tension | Kurdish forces target military vehicle of “National Army” with guided missile in eastern Afrin, and Turkish forces react with artillery fire
Aleppo province: SOHR activists have reported that the Kurdish forces targeted, with a guided missile, a military vehicle of a faction of the “National Army” in Baslah/Balsahaya village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside, but no further details have been reported yet about the number of casualties and material damage caused by the attack.
After the attack, clashes erupted between Kurdish forces and the “National Army” factions on the frontlines of Sawaghanka village in Shirawa district in Afrin countryside. The clashes coincided with bombardment by Turkish forces on the Kurdish-held village of Oqaybah with heavy artillery, which caused damage to civilians’ houses. Moreover, the village of Mar’anaz has experienced sporadic clashes and exchange of artillery fire between Kurdish forces and the “National Army” in northern Aleppo.
SOHR sources reported earlier this morning that clashes erupted in the early hours of Thursday between factions of the Turkish-backed “National Army” and Kurdish forces deployed in the northern countryside of Aleppo. The clashes, which coincided with exchange of heavy machinegun fire, took place on the frontlines of Mar’anaz.
