Drone attack | Strikes hit Tafas city, while new assassination documented in Daraa al-Balad

Daraa province: Syrian Observatory activists have reported that Unknown assailants opened fire on a man from Daraa governorate, in  Manshiya neighborhood in Daraa al-Balad  ,Which resulted in his instant death. It is worth noting that the man was a former member of Jabhat al-Nusra and he worked as an interior bus driver after he had struck a reconciliation deal with regime.

 

On the other hand, SOHR activists have reported hearing two explosions in Tafas city in the countryside of Daraa, caused by a drone attack on former headquarters and an abandoned petrol station, but no casualties have been reported.

 

Since the beginning of the security chaos in Daraa in early June 2019, Syrian Observatory activists documented more than 1,096 attacks and assassination attempts by gunfire and detonations of IEDs, motorcycle-bombs and car-bombs. These attacks and assassinations claimed the lives of 750 persons, categorised as follows:

 

  • 209 civilians, including 13 women and 22 children

 

  • 350 regime soldiers, loyalists and collaborators with regime security services.

 

  • 134 fighters of factions that struck “reconciliation and settlements” deals with the regime and became in the ranks of regime’s security branches, including former commanders.

 

  • 26 Syrian militiamen affiliated to the Lebanese Hezbollah and Iranian forces.

 

  • 31 members of the so-called 5th Corps which was established by Russia.
