After attacks on oil trucks in the Syrian coastline | Regime forces arrest Syrian Army’s director of fuel department

The Syrian army’s director of fuel department was arrested after a court warrant was issued to seize the transferred and non-transferred funds of the director and his family.

SOHR sources said that the director of fuel department was arrested over disputes with other corrupted officials in regime forces as this department controls the military petrol stations which get fuel from oil ministry stores and major refineries in Homs and Baniyas cities.

This development came after several explosions which targeted oil trucks in the Syrian coastline in the past few weeks. On May 9, SOHR activists reported hearing an explosion in Baniyas city in the Syrian coastline, caused by an explosion of an oil truck.

While on April 24, SOHR sources said that three Syrians died in the burning of a fuel tank aboard an Iranian oil truck, opposite the city of Baniyas.

It is worth noting that regime-controlled areas are struggling with stifling fuel crisis in light of blockade imposed on Syria.
