Security chaos in Daraa | Security officer assassinated in Ankhel, while unknown attackers throw grenade on checkpoint near al-Sahwa.

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that unknown armed men opened fire today on a civilian with an ID issued from the state security branch while he was standing in front of a bread bakery in Ankhel city in the northern countryside of Daraa, which resulted in his death.

The victim had been a member of opposition factions in Daraa city, before he worked as a security officer responsible for securing the bread bakery in Ankhel city after he had struck reconciliation deal in 2018.

On the other hand, unknown assailants threw a grenade on a regime checkpoint at the entrance of al-Sahwa town, after which violent clashes took place with machineguns between regime troops and the attackers, amid heavy gunfire on al-Sahwa city, without reports of causalities.
