Al-Darbasiyyah | SDF border guards opened fire on civilians attempting cross into Turkish territory, injuring two

Al-Hasakah province : SOHR activists have reported that a group of civilians, including women and kids, entered Turkey territory illegally this afternoon from al-Khazara village on al-Wasel road between Amouda and Derbasiyah cities in north-east Syria region on the Syria- Turkey border.

 

Activists have reported that border guards of Syria Democratic Forces fired warning shots to stop these civilians, while attempting to cross the border, which resulting in the injury of two civilians before they managed to reach Turkish territory. Meanwhile, the Turkish border guard forces “Jandarma” responded to the fire coming from Syrian territory.

 

SOHR has confirmed that villages on the Syria-Turkey borders witnessed widespread deployment by the Internal Security Forces “Asayesh” and SDF border guards.

In a similar incident, reliable sources reported, on June 6, that a group of civilians attempted to smuggle themselves to the Turkish territory, in the early morning, from the western part of al-Darbasiyah city in north-east Syria region on the Syria-Turkey border. According to SOHR sources, border guards of Syria democratic Forces fired warning shots to stop these civilians, which evolved to exchange of fire between SDF border guards and the Turkish border guard forces “Jandarma”. The exchange of fire resulted in the injury of three civilians among the group which was attempting to sneak to Turkey and they were taken to al-Darbasiyah field clinic in al-Darbasiyah, while some of the civilians managed to reach the Turkish territory.
